Pickup 8/2 - joined by a very special guest

Today we collected 155 pounds of kitchen scraps! That is roughly the same weight as a large air conditioning unit. Today we had a very special guest, THE Katherine Devaney, and took her through the composting process we do each and every week. She will be writing an article on everything we do to get the word out and hopefully inspire more people in different areas to follow suit and start composting in their local community. In addition, we started up a new pile today with the help of the Katherine! Not only did she bring the shredded newspaper up the hill, she also helped stir and take photos. We are very grateful for her visit and hope that she will compost with us again in the near future. Thanks to all who have participated and we are looking forward to next week!
