We have so much to report today! First we collected a record amount - 254.8lbs - of kitchen scraps and pumpkins - great news as our piles have begun to cool slightly and so this addition of nitrogen rich material should kick start the heating process again. Not only did we have a record week, we also passed some milestones. As of this week we have collected over 7,000lbs of kitchen scraps saving over 6 cubic feet from landfill. We asked AI to give us some images of what this may look like!
Last week we promised we would announce our competition winners for most creative arrangement of composting materials. The winner of most creative with kitchen scraps is Jessica - congrats Jessica, we will drop off a bag of compost next week. A special mention goes out to Lisa Chass with her stunning creation using flower cuttings. Lovely to see that working with recyclable plant waste can be fun and creative! If anyone has an inspired artistic moment with their compostable materials please send images, we would love to see them!
