Pick up 10/25: PLASTIC!

Today we collected 193 pounds of compost. While that is a great amount, unfortunately, we collected what seemed like an equal amount of plastic. We are very grateful for all contributing households, however, it is a lot of added work to pick out all of the plastic every week. Not only this, but the goal of our project is to reduce the amount of waste produced in our neighbourhood so it is very disappointing to have to throw out this amount of plastic each week. That being said, we are so grateful to all the households who continuously drop off every week and made sure that there are no labels on their food scraps! We would just really appreciate it if people made sure that they are trying to avoid putting plastic in their bins. Thank you all so much!
